A Trip to Trax Farm: Peach & Arugula Grilled Cheese

I arrived back in the States just in time for what is quite possibly my favorite season of anything ever: peach season.
Peaches

So naturally Mum and I packed up the car, stole Grandma and headed out to Trax Farms in Finleyville, PA to stock up on peaches and corn and otherwise delicious produce. My family's been going to Trax ever since it was a wee little one room farmer's market and greenhouse but they've since expanded to include even more delicious foods such as Sun-Dried Tomato & Basil salad dressing (which I nabbed a bottle of!) and a whole shelf of teas. They even have a sandwich shop now!

I was much too excited to sink my teeth into all of those delicious peaches and stumbled across an amazingly simple and delish recipe from over at Macheesmo that I had to try - a grilled cheese with peaches, gruyere, and arugula.

Peach Grilled Cheese

Perfect! I have to say, this was probably the most visually appealing grilled cheese I've ever flipped. 1) I didn't forget about it and let it burn and 2) It didn't turn into a debris ridden mess when I flipped it. Needless to say, I was pleased. I find that it helps to melt you sandwich faster without burning the crap out of it if you just toss a lid on top while it cooks. Definitely a must make for summer! I might have a small crisis when I can't get such fresh peaches in a few months!

Are you a fan of peaches? What's the one fruit you can't live without?

Hello, hello!

Kaitenzushi

Hello there! I guess you could call this the official 'welcome' to My Life as a Teacup. I have no shame in admitting that right now, this is going to be a lovely little mishmash of a blog and I hope that you can find something here that tickles your fancy :)

I'm currently sipping some vanilla tea and taking some time to indulge in the jet-lag induced narcolepsy that comes with flying Tokyo to Pittsburgh, resulting in almost a 36-hour day! I just returned from a summer study abroad in Hakodate, Japan and what a summer it's been! Full of kaitenzushi, watching fireworks by the pier, relaxing hot springs and Tokyo Disney all made for an amazing summer abroad.

It's finally nice to be home, however, and what better way to get reacquainted with home than curling up and having a Star Wars marathon with the Boy. Please forgive the helter skelter around here for the next few days as I try to frantically get laundry done, restock the fridge, and sort through all of my mail. I promise I'll get the ball rolling here ASAP! I'm too excited not to :D

Tell me about you! Have you been anywhere exciting, exotic or just plain fun this summer?
