Link Love

♥ This is my favorite thing of all time: Post-Punk Icons Reimagined as Marvel Heroes
♥ I’m guilty of looking to see how many pages I have until the end of a chapter, or peering at my Kindle’s “time left until end of book” count when I read. But the folks at Personal Creations have put together a pretty nifty chart, breaking down how long it takes to read popular books – so cool!
The Story of Lorem Ipsum: How the Scrambled Text by Cicero Became the Standard for Typesetters Everywhere
The mental health benefits of knitting (speaking of knitting, check out this week’s Smitten if you haven’t already!)
♥ The Batgirl variant cover stirred up quite a lot of controversy this week. I’m truthfully not sure where I stand on this complicated issue, but it’s worth talking about (and has since been pulled)
The Works of Terry Pratchett: A Primer
♥ The Good Guy Sauron meme, because he really is pretty helpful!
♥ Final Fantasy has been my jam for many years, but I’m still on the fence on how I feel about the latest games, especially Final Fantasy XV
The Rock, lip-syncing Taylor Swift. You’re welcome. (I kind of love Dwayne Johnson. I can’t explain it)

What fun links have you found this week?

I’m right there with you on the latest Final Fantasies. FFVII remains one of my favorite games ever, and so many of the other were good…but it seems like they’ve been on a downward decline since FFX. I found XIII downright unenjoyable; it sure looked pretty but I found it so boring to play. Loved the book chart as well – I’ve never actually times myself on how long it takes to read a book. Now I’m curious, especially if it would change depending on genre!

    • Agreed! I like the older turn-based games; it feels like the faster pace leads to less strategy and more button mashing, in my opinion. I’d rather plan and time my attacks. I don’t think I finished XIII – oops 🙂 One day I’ll play more than an hour!

  • The punk rockers as superheroes is the coolest thing I’ve seen all week!

  • I LOL’ed so hard at that video of The Rock. He knows the lyrics, OMG! It means he listens to the song. Haha

    Love, Dara

    • I like to imagine The Rock listening to quite awesome music, T-Swift included 🙂

  • Can’t wait till Lip Sync Battle starts, it looks hilarious!
And I love that chart about the reading time of popular books, going to share it on my book swap page!

    • I’m excited to see who the battles bring out! 🙂

  • OMG The Rock singing Taylor Swift. OMG. Also, I’ve always wondered about Lorem Ipsum – now I know!
